Tasting Room & Events Manager

Stephanie joins the Tucker Team by way of the mighty Mississippi River (and a few highways here and there). She grew up in the Chicagoland area, but made her way down South in 2009 when she joined AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps based out of the Vicksburg, Mississippi campus. While she worked with nonprofit organizations across the South, Steff fell in love with the culture, food and festivals of the region. After her service term ended, she was drawn to New Orleans by the scent of beignets and crawfish. It was there that she gained an informal education in the art of Southern hospitality.

Stephanie’s journey in the food and beverage world began by working as a banquet server for both the Hyatt Regency and Ritz-Carlton properties in New Orleans. It was then that she made the decision to return to school and earn her Health & Wellness degree from Tulane University. While studying at Tulane she transitioned from hotels to serving at a locally-owned restaurant, Brown Butter Southern Kitchen & Bar. After a year she officially became their Events Coordinator, organizing and planning Brown Butter’s participation in multiple local events.

From there she accepted an offer to join the team at Abita Brewing Company on the Northshore of New Orleans. As the Tap Room & Visitor Center Manager at Abita, Stephanie enjoyed helping to plan events, give tours to locals and tourists and further develop her beer knowledge. While she will always hold a special place in her heart for Abita, she is thrilled to be in Georgia and cannot wait to explore all that this beautiful state has to offer!

In her spare time, Stephanie loves to cook and bake. While living in New Orleans, she spent a few days a week baking at The Station Coffee Shop & Bakery where owner, Megan Walker taught her a multitude of new skills, including the patience to make croissants from scratch. Stephanie started her own catering business with a friend while living in Louisiana and baked several yummy delicacies including crepe cakes, pies, scones and, her personal favorite, kolaches. Stephanie also loves exploring and trying new things. She loves nature – whether it’s hiking by rivers or being trampled on by waves at the beach, she’s always up for an adventure. She plans to check out what it’s like to be way down yonder by the Chattahoochee and has big plans to fully immerse herself in being a resident of the Peach State!
