About The Export:
The Export is our stronger version of the Pilsner. This style, also known as a Dortmunder Export, is a brilliant gold color. This beer was fun to brew because we used a Czech Pilsner floor malt as our base malt. The “floor malt” relates to the old way of germinating the barley kernel during the malting process by hand spreading the malt across the floor then manually turning the malt every hour or so with rakes and shovels. Modern technology has allowed maltsters to autonomize the malting process making modern malt very well modified and clean in flavor.
See if you can taste the difference between our standard TKR Pilsner and The Export…some would say the Export has more earthy tones with notes of biscuit and honey because of the floor malt.
